Only in NYC Kids

As New Yorkers we all read NY Post. Page six a NYC Staple and as Cindy from page six says "Only in NY, Only in NY kids"

The following are my top only in New York moments:

1. A homeless guy gave me fifty dollars on a N train heading to Brooklyn.

I was heading home from the bar. A group of drunk stockbrokers got on, they saw a homeless guy and one of them proclaimed "I feel so sorry for you." The homeless guy did not want his pity and actually looked insulted. The guy threw fifty dollars at him. I tried to return it he would not take it. He left the money on my magazine and walked away. A month later I saw him at the D line.

2. The time I unknowingly saved myself from a psychopath.

I dated a guy I met on craiglist. He was crazy and I never saw him again after he cut up coke on his dashboard while he drove. I would later see in the New York Post full page story that read "Man stabs guy at schwarma truck over line spot." Wow saved myself from that one.

3. My chance encounter with a celebrity photographer

I met Jessica Tzar while being detained for smoking the forbidden grass in public. I had no clue who she was till I got home and looked her up. I realized "Omg she shot for Vogue."

4.  Is that your costume?

When a coworker of a mine asked an eccentric man in Union Square dressed in multi-colored plastics was that a costume? The homeless guy replied in a serious British tone "These are my clothes."

5.  Oh no why me moment

I watched as the downtown train pulled in and a girl's iPhone fell in the space between the platform and the track. She looked at me and I looked at her thinking "Damn that sucks."

6.  Did he just do that?

The time I watched a cabbie scream at a cop for not allowing him to make that turn.  A group of tourists could not help but  gawk. I shouted during the promotion I was working "Welcome to New York people."

7. The time a business dude  tried to hold the door open with his hand

I was running for the 1 train one morning. I barely made it. This gentleman tried to hold open the door by sticking his hand in the door holding a coffee cup. The coffee cup crunched then spilled allover down his hand. Sadly he still missed the train. Ouch :(

8. Showtime folks

Every time those crazy kids get on the A Train or D train and start break dancing you wonder will one of them crack their heads open?

9.  It's not vandalism it's art

When you realize that the grafitti is actually beautiful.

10. The Village Shooter.

I was in Washington Square park with my ex when we saw helicopters and cops. We thought maybe someone  got caught hustling next day read the newspaper and find out they were looking for the Village Shooter who had shot four people dead.

Only NYC could provide these stories...
